Samuel Martin Butler, b. 1867, d. 1948 Stockdale

I am descended from Samuel's brother Lemuel Anthony Butler. We have no living male Butlers from that line, though I have a great deal of information about Samuel's ancestors.

Samuel was born in TX (probably Gonzales or surrounding) after his family came there from AR and his father, George Ball Butler, returned from service in a TX regiment in the Civil War.

Does anyone know anything about Samuel? Did he marry and have children? Any information is appreciated. If there is a living male Butler descendant from Samuel, I would love to help fund a DNA test so that we can see exactly what Butler family we are related to.

At present, I and my correspondents believe that Samuel's documented g grandfather, John Butler, came from Fauquier County VA before settling in Laurens Cty, SC after his Revolutionary War service.
