Thank you so much for your reply, Joan. I apologize for not giving you dates and places. The Wade Hampton West that you mentioned was my grandmother's father. That Wade Hampton (born 1861 in Atascosa Co. and died 1917 in Wilson Co) Married his first cousin once removed, Mary Almeda West (1868 Wilson-1950 Wilson) daughter of David West(1845 Shelby Co.Tx-1886 Wilson) who was the son of the first Wade Hampton West(1818 Ga-1896 Wilson) son of James West (1788-1792 SC-died 1854 Wilson). Then we go over to Atascosa Co and there are more James and Wade Hampton Wests, very popular names in this family. There were alot of children who married into all the old families of Wilson Co. I would like to update my files on these people with the names of family members.
This family settled in what is now Pandora, Tx.and there are still members of this family living in Nixon, Pandora and Stockdale. Most of the older members of this family were buried at Steel Branch Cem which was on West land. James West who died in 1854 was the first buried there. Thank you for your interest,
