Emma A. Still

Emma A. Still, 103, of Taylor died in the SPJST Rest Home on Aug. 3, 2003.

Recitation of the Rosary and viewing will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 2 p.m. with the Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Born Oct. 14, 1899 in Taylor, Still was a lifelong resident of Taylor and was preceded in death by her parents, former Taylor Mayor Calvin M. Still and Bridget (Quinn) Still. One of the original graduates of St. Mary's School, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had a long career at First Taylor National Bank.

Survivors include nephew Calvin Hembree of San Antonio; great-nieces Cindy Cummins of Ft. Worth, Linda Stengel of Richardson, Margaret Parry of Plano, Polly Gowen of Pflugerville, Priscilla Hunt of Houston, Molly Couch of San Antonio; great-nephews Gage Hunt of Flower Mound, Gary Hunt of Calif.; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's School Trust Fund at 408 Washburn St. in Taylor or to the charity of one's choice.

An online tribute, at, has been established for your words of comfort and to honor the memory of Emma Still.

Emma Still was a first cousin to my great-grandmother.
