It still might???? help if she could give you his birth certificate number. Though, as with your mother's it seems they just slipped her in with a number from information provided to them instead of using her original number.

As an Etta Derrick died about four months after the twins were born in Tarrant Co, I corresponded with a person who does obituary lookups for Lea Co NM, where she is buried. He could not find one in the local paper. He said it was probably because she was single and had no immediate family there. Her mother had died in 1907 and her father in 1923.

It appears that her brother, John C (Cleo) Derrick had no birth children, so there is no one there to follow up with to get information.
