Buford Biggers (adopted name Buford Welty)

Looking for information about Buford Biggers (adopted name Buford Welty) born about 1914 in Texas. His parents were Clarence William Biggers and Bertha Pearl Ledford. Clarence was killed in 1922, and Buford and his brother Daniel John Biggers were adopted by George W Welty and Anna B Lewis of Wichita County, TX. George and Anna were on the 1920 Wichita County, TX, Federal Census, but on the 1930 Wichita COunty, TX, Federal Census Anna is widowed with Jack Welty, her (adopted) son. On the 1930 Wichita County, TX, Census, Buford Welty is shown as a servant in the Grover C Lewis household. I feel this is the Buford Biggers Welty for which I am searching, but I do not know what happened to him after 1930. I received a letter from his brother Daniel John Welty (recently deceased) in 1996, and he assumed that Buford was deceased. Any information about the Biggers, Welty, Lewis families will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Lisa May-McKenzie
