Judge John Rankin Bowen

I am interested to hear from anyone that has come across information or photos of Judge John Rankin Bowen. I have all of his vital data - birth, death, marriage, children. But I know he moved to Wharton County in the 1890's and became a judge there in 1908. He was a fairly prominent member of the community until his death in 1923, and his widow Elizabeth lived on until 1952. I believe she was a teacher for some years. Has anyone come across old newspaper article mentioning either one of them? Or a old photo with one of them? My dad remembers an old photo of Judge Bowen standing outside a building with several men - a 'posey' he thinks - all holding guns and wearing hats. John and Elizabeth had 3 surviving children - Adam Rankin 1888-1952, John Louis "Buddy" 1890-1983 and Edith Marie 1903-1987. Edith married Clarence Krause and had one son Donald Krause, but she moved away from Wharton. "Uncle Buddy" I met when I was a kid, and he died in Wharton. He married a lady named Ella and they had no children. If anyone has any info or tidbits on this family I would appreciate hearing from you. A gold mine would be any old newspaper clippings or photos. Thank you!
