Davis Families Al>Texas

My husband's ancestor was married to Mary Frances McElrath, daughter of John and Rachel. His name was Jasper Newton Davis b. 1832 SC. They had one son
that survived Mary Frances and he lived to adulthood. He was named John Wesley Davis, born 1858 (2 yr 1860 Benton county Al census). John married Victoria
Ransom. They had several children, one named Ensley Pulaski Davis for John's uncle-older brother of Jasper (John's father). John was also with Amanda
C.(Cannon) and Ensley P. Davis in 1870 Washington county Tx. census. John Wesley, five or more years older than children born to Jane M. (Woods) his
step-mother, I presumed that his feelings were more with his uncle than his father and Jane. Jasper had many children by Jane but only three daughters and one son
lived to adulthood, James born c1864. James has many descendants. John also has many descendants.

My William W. Davis family consisted of ONLY two children, both BOYS named Ensley and Jasper. They did have four OLDER STEP-SIBLINGS whose last
name was FAULK or FALK, Faulk is the correct spelling. Their step-mother was a SARAH, her maiden name is unknown, but she had four children by Richard
Faulk who died 1829. There were two girls and two boys. I have no knowledge of any other children of this Davis family and I have census readings from 1830. If
COUSINS were in the area I am not certain who they might have been.
