My great grandmother Sarah Garner married a Joseph William Roe and they came to Hempstead because some of her Garner family was already there. One of her sisters was Betsey Chapman, probably Elizabeth Garner originally. My sister once located some Garners that sailed from England into New Orleans. She thought possbily these were Sarah Garner's relatives, but she has lost her information. We have tried the Galveston records, but most seem to have been lost in the Galveston flood early in the century. What info do you have on Garners? Were they from England?
