There is unpublished material in the possession of Mrs. G.B. Oliphant in Huntsville. The time this information was used was in 1954. It may be in the county library now. I am conducting research on my surnames in connections with H.F. Lewis, Scotts, Fishers, and many other family names that left Lowndes Georgia during the early 1850s. It appears the Oliphants were among the families traveling. I have a probated appraisal with inventoried items that I am willing to share with family name of Oliphant dating in 1859. Please respond back on my e-mail address for this information if desire. The address to locate the Early History of Huntsville Texas (History of the Fisher Families by Mrs. G.B. Oliphant: <>
