I am looking for any additional information about these two men who served with Terry's Texas Rangers (8th Texas Cavalry) during the American Civil War.
James A. Collins
Captain, Company "K", Terry's Texas Rangers
Resided in Dallas, Victoria County, TX.
Enlisted in Houston during September 1861 at age 25.
Elected 1st lieutenant by February 1862.
Bunting reported him wounded in September 1862.
Promoted to Captain in July 1863.
Wounded and resigned in March 1864.
Joseph Collins
Pvt., Company "K", Terry's Texas Rangers
Resided in Victoria County
Enlisted in Houston during September 1861 at age 23.
Last Reported as absent sick in January 1862.
Died at Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1861.
Any information would be appreciated.
