Joan, Thank you so very much for the information you gathered regarding Mary Ellen Clardy. John Henderson Murphrey, Mary's 2nd husband, was a widower when they met and married. His first wife was Adeline Elizabeth Herron with whom they had several children. John and Mary Ellen Clardy Morrison had five sons and one daughter. Ruby Thelma Murphrey was born 1906 and died in 1989. Ruby was married to a Mr. Hutchinson and living in Dallas when her mother, Mary Ellen, came to visit. Mary was out in the garden picking vegetables for their dinner when she died. Refer to the Van Zandt County, Texas genealogical society website and look for old newspapers. You'll find Mary Ellen's death listed there. Later, Ruby married Luther B. Gee. They are buried in Elm Grove Cemetery in the same section as her brother Henry Grady Murphrey and his wife, Rosa Mae White Murphrey; and another brother and his wife as well as several other Murphrey relatives. So sorry its taken me so long to get back to you and thank you for all your help.
