Can you tell me if you have any thing on the Mitchums or John Thomas Wilkerson or a Susan A Mitchum Wilkerson Neal. There is a Jim Mitchum buried in Morris Chapel Cem in Canton I think may be my gggrandfathers brother.Unfortunatly there is no dates for him on the stone John/Johnny Thomas Wilkerson was born to Susan A Mitcum and unknown Wilkerson in Shelby co tx. My Jim/James M was living with John in the 1900 census. But then in 1910 Jim was living with his brother my gggrandfather William Daniel in Limestone Co. My ggggrandfather name was also James Mitchum and he was born in 1784/1794 in NC. So we are not positive if the Jim buried in Morris chapel is the son or father more than likely the son. By the way James Mitchum b 1844 served in the 4th Tx Brigade Co C His brother my gggrandfather served in the 28th Tx Cav in Co E and there other brother Jeremiah also served in the 28th Tx Cav. I have just this past week sent for there civil war records William and Jeremiah's that is. I am sending tomorrow for James's i just found his today. So any and all info that you can find in that book would be appreciated. They also had a sister named Susan A who married first a unknow Wilkerson and had the Johnny mentioned above and then she married a Thomas or Josiah Neal and had William M, Martha E, James F,and possibly a MJ (female) and a CA (also female) and Louia (maybe Louisa) these children are on the 1870 and 1880 census in Shelby Co. Another sister whos name was Elviny/Elviry A. Johnny Thomas wilkersons sons Rastus and Ernest both married in Van Zandt and are buried in Morris Chapel also that is how i know the connection. So more than likely there in the vicinity of Canton, Van Zandt co. Thanks for any help you can give me!!! Debra Notify Administrator about this message?
