i was looking into the county book i have for van zandt .. this is what
it states...

the book was inspired by the meeting of E.D. VAN ZANDT. of long beach, miss. in aug. of 1948. MMR. VAN ZANDT is a blood relative of ISSAC VAN ZANDT. for whom the county was named from. issac was born Franklin county, tenn. july 10, 1813. parents where jacob and mary van zandt.
jacob was a native of nnorth carolina. mary's father, samuel issac was from south carolina and moved to lincoln county, tenn. in 1833 ISSAC VAN ZANDT married MISS FANNIE LIPSCOMB relative to the late chief justice lipscomb of texas. he first moved to panola county texas in 1838. 1839
he moved to harrison county. 1840 and 41, he became as the
representative in the lower house of that legislative body. he then later became Charge D'affairs to the united states which was conferred upon him by president houston in 1842. he resigned because he brought the annexation
of texas and then there was uncertainty of it.. 1845 he was a delagate for the annexation of texas. he frmaed the constitution of the lone star state. 1847 he was a candidate for governor but he was stricken with
yellow fever and died the 11th day of october. only lists one name of his descendants...r.l. van zandt of fort worth, tx. though it states that there was a memorial for him and his wife put in the lawn of the court house of canton .. it says 44 of his descendants came to the memorial.
lists no names of his family if he had any .. or brothers of his or anything else...

maybe this might be of info u needed .. unwilling knowing if you were related to this van zandt or not.. there is a book i know of that has info on this van zandt .. it is titled. some history of van zandt county , by manning..

hope that thi is any use to you.. good luck in ur research
