Dianne..thanks for the note. Yhe main reason we thought that Louis M. Peters started that store was that inside on the wall is the word "Nettie" done like a fresco. That was Louis Peters' wife, Jane Rankin. The name is still visible. I found out some more info that stated that Thomas Hammer started that store and then it was moved to a site in what is now Sabinal, the town. (not the building that was moved , only the operation). Thanks for your help. Our family had thousands of acres south of Knippa and that has been cut and sold over the years down to our 1000 acre ranch as it stands now with the Frio on the south border
