Woods-Hoard [Sabinal, Uvalde Co-c1885]

Looking for information on the family of my gggrandparents Henry J. Woods (b1825 in SC) and his wife Mary "Polly" H. Wingo (b1823 in SC). Mary died at the home of her daughter Margaret "Maggie" Hoard, the wife of Noah S. Hoard, in Sabinal, Uvalde County, Texas. Since Henry and Mary were enumerated on the 1880 Greene County TN Census, I suspect she died somewhere around 1885.

Another researcher sent me a copy of Mary Wingo Woods' (my Henry's wife) obituary. Unfortunately, she did not have the date or the publication.
"At 5 o'clock Wednesday evening Mrs. Mary H. Woods quietly passed away
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. S. Hoard this city. She was born
in Spartanburg, SC, March 31st, 1823 and came to Sabinal just one year
ago to live with her only daughter, Mrs. Hoard. She had been sick for
some time and her death had been hourly expected for several days and
all that gentle loving hands could do for her comfort was done, never
tiring, for they knew that Mother would soon be no more. She was laid
to rest at 3 o'clock Thursday evening in the little city of our dead in
Sabinal to await the resurrection. We extend sympathy to the bereaved

Since Henry is not mentioned, I presume he too is dead by this time, but
I still don't know where, or when, he died. Accordingly, I have a couple of questions:

1. Did Uvalde County maintain death records after 1880, and where might they be located?

2. Does anyone have any idea as to what particular publication (in Sabinal, Texas c 1885) the above obituary might have been published.

3. What exactly is "our little city of the dead" where Mary is indicated to have been buried. Is this the Sabinal Cemetery? Is it still in existence? And where might it be located?

4. Does anyone happen to know if Henry J. Woods also died in Uvalde County?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
