Della Burcham Tye returned to Upshur Co. in 1899 when she was widowed. She brought back her 4 Tye sons from Boonville,Mississippi to be close to her parents who lived in the Latch Community. Her sons were Cullen Franklin Tye, Jesse A. Tye, Johnny Tye, and James Davner Tye. Her parents were James Burcham and Margaret Stegall Burcham. She had 3 brothers and 7 sisters. She remarried Gainie Perry. I think they had one son and maybe a daughter. On this I could be wrong. They were not married long before Della became ill with terminal tubercolosis. She arrainged four the 4 Tye boys to be placed with local families with the request that they were to keep the Tye name. Cullen lived with the Arringtons,Jesse with the Thompsons, Johnny with Eck and Nora (Richardson) Long, James Davner with Pink and Evie (Richardson)Runnels. She is buried at Hopwell.
