Hi Linda: Well no wonder I couldn't find anything on James Foster when I was following Dora Bell's children through Velma Lee & James Artis. The Texas birth index has him abstracted as James Jean not James Eugene. I thought it was a little odd but didn't carry it through from Jean to Gene to Eugene.
As you've surmised from your previous posts that I've read, Dora Bell's parents were D. Thomas Rice and Sarah Jane. But I notice you didn't have Sarah Jane's maiden name, unless you've added it since your original posts. She was Sarah Jane Paul, daughter of John Arlie Paul (1829 GA-1917 TX) and Louisa P. Matthews (abt 1824 NC-1892 TX). I haven't figured out yet who D. Thomas Rice's parents were but Sarah's brother's 1st and 2nd wives were Rice girls, and in her household as well as Sarah's there was a W.M. Rice, and all these Rices were probably all related.
I've only recently started working this line again trying to fill in gaps after having put it away for awhile. Sarah Jane (Paul) Rice's sister Martha Ann Francis Paul was my great-great-grandmother.
I'd love to trade information.
