James Marion Burcham b. 4 Mar. 1850 Tishomingo Co. Ms. died 23 Aug. 1933 Upshur Co. Tx. "after a lingering illness with cancer." He was b. Thursday afternoon 24 Aug. 1933 at Hopewell Cem. in Upshur Co.
James M. Burcham was the 7th child of Henry Burcham b. 1811, Hickman Co. Tn. and Nancy Searcy, said to be half Indian who smoked corncob pipe.
Henry Burcham was the youngest son of Levi H. Burcham b. 1772 N.C. and Ann Wyatt who m. about 1798 Hickman Co. Tn.
James Marion Burcham m. Elizer Stegall date unknown in Tishomingo, or Alcorn Co. Ms. They moved to Upshur Co. Tx. date unknown in a wagon train with other families from that area. They had children:
