I am looking for info on Saul P. Johnson, born c. 1859. prob. in Upshur Co., TX. In 1880 , he is in the household with his mother with this info:

1880 Census:

Jane JOHNSON Self W Female W 45 GA Keeping House NC NC
Saul P. JOHNSON Son Male W 21 TX Farming AL GA
Melvina M. JOHNSON DauL M Female W 16 TX Keeping House MS AL
Mary J. BLACK GDau S Female W 7 TX At Home GA TX
Sarah NORTON Mother W Female W 74 NC Boarder NC NC

Census Place District 137, Navarro, Texas
Family History Library Film 1255321
NA Film Number T9-1321
Page Number 479B

In 1860, I found Jane and her husband, Jas. or Jos. Johnson in Upshur Co., TX:

1860 Census Upshur Co., TX, Layfayette P.O., Page 433B, HH# 623:

Jas Johnson, 27, ? (Name could be Jos-Joseph?)
Jane, 27, GA
Frances Fowler, 6, GA
Rebecca, 4, TX
Saul Johnson, 1, TX

I believe that Jane is the daughter of Cornelius and Sarah Rasco Norton. It may be that Jane married a Fowler before leaving GA. If so, he must have died as she is married to Mr. Johnson, I beleive that the abbreviation is prob. for Joseph.

Does anyone have anything to share about this family? I would appreciate anything!

Thank you
Mona Herrin
