Since you know when and where James died, you can obtain a copy of his death certificate, which should show the names of his parents. Once you have the name of his father you can then look for the family on the 1900 census when James would be about 12 yrs old [assume you meant he was born in 1888] and pick up names of his siblings and other family data.
