Bill,
Thank you so very much for the information you provided on the Aills family in Upshur County.

You have provided some leads for me. A friend had done a marriage lookup for me and found a T.P. Aills who married a Eugenia Briscoe in Mississippi. I had no way to know if this was my T.P. Aills. Since the listing you have shows T.P. Aills buried next to a Briscoe it tweaks my interest. Would you happen to have the name of the Briscoe he's buried next to?

You show a J.W. Aills to be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery -
15 Sept. 1808 - 19 Oct. 1897. The information I have is that Thomas Paine Aills' father was James Wesley Aills.
I have found a marriage record in the East Feliciana Parish LA Marriages where a James Aills married Matilda Carr, 24 April 1827. Again, I do not know for certain if this was my James Wesley Aills.

The FTM family file where I gathered my information did not show a wife for Thomas Paine Aills or for James Wesley Aills.

In the East Feliciana Parish marriage records there was also a William Aills who married Sarah S. Hall, on 10 July 1828. Additionally, in the 1830 E. Felic. Par. Census a
Walker Ailes is found. I wonder if they are related to my Aills? Does anyone reading this know?

At your suggestion I have ordered the pension files from the Texas Archives.

I'm fairly new at genealogy and don't exactly know how to obtain information that is not on the Web. I appreciate your help and for all your work in posting the information from the cemeteries. Thank you.

My best, Sandra Zenger
