I am at a dead end on Matilda Sheffield's parents and siblings. I found Matilda and James on the 1850 Ga. census and again In 1870 Tyler Co, Woodville census. Some of their children were born in Ga. and some in Texas.
I have heard the Sheffields in Ga. had hotels, and moved from Ga. during the war or shortly after. I am trying to locate sheffield ancestors. Matilda is my grt grandma and that is as far as I can get on Sheffields.
Lucille.
