STILL searching for my paternal gg-grandfather, William T. "WT" HOLLAND, b. GA married Susan A. "unknown". Probate filed 1866 in Tyler Co, Texas by Susan A.
Susan A. HOLLAND (maiden name unknown) and children (my g-aunts and uncles) are listed on the 1870 Tyler Co, TX census records. With the one unusual, Rufus HOLLAND at -2mnths old- that either the surname was listed wrong or was a family member as he COULD NOT have belonged to WT.
These are the HOLLANDS' listed on the 1870 Tyler Co, Texas census Records:

He is likely a definite relative of the above HOLLAND family because he lived next door. Interestingly, none of these families lived very far apart, but I cannot find a connection. Note that Mila HOLLAND was from Georgia.
I suspect that John HOLLAND may be a son OR more likely another relative of WT as it would be normal for him to move into the county after WT passed to help, and the other families have children circa John's age, and older, living with them. Does anyone claim this John HOLLAND? Maybe the baby belongs to him?
Another reason is because if Council (listed as Conneil) was the first born, it would be extremely unusual, especially for the times, as that would have made Susan aged 31 at the birth of her first child. Maybe the lapse of time because WT (he always went by WT) served as a soldier? Or maybe it was because they were on the move before that time?
Also, I have researched all the names of the persons he traded with listed on his probate and most were married in either Tyler Co or Newton Co, Texas around the same time (circa 1858-59), but I still have not uncovered my WT's marriage record.
I also suspect that William/WT may have been in the Chicot County, ARK area around 1860 as he did some trading with some people that (researchers) claimed to be in that area at that time.
Susan remarried in 1880 to JW DAVIS, age 51, born GA. Council, Mitchel and William Jr. are on the 1880 census with JW and Susan "?" HOLLAND DAVIS.
Any information that anyone can supply, and I mean ANY info, help or suggestions is greatly welcomed after my 6 year brick wall in the search of my gg-grandfather. At this point in time, I am willing to follow any lead, no matter how obscure it may be.
