Howdy, Ken HAAS, I, too, am interested in the families who came from Early Co., GA. It told to me that Mary E. 'Polly' COLLIER - FREEMAN, my g.g.grandmother, who was the widow of (James) Delaware FREEMAN, had married William L. CASWELL, a widower from Early Co., GA., w/children had moved to Newton Co., TX. If so, later, ( I have no clue as to what happened to William), Polly moved to Tyler Co., and is on the 1860 Tyler Co., TX. Census, # 232 - # 239, with son Eli Warren FREEMAN,(Mary FREEMAN 55 f widowed GA. ) 1870 Tyler Co., TX. Census, #653 - #653 FREEMAN Jas ( James Torrence, my g.grandfather) 32 m w shoemaker GA. ,,, Columbia 28 f w keeping house GA. ( it is believed her maiden name was BAKER ),, Mary 63 f w GA. ,, James 09 m w TX. 1880 Tyler Co., TX. Census, #118 - #126 FREMAN Mary E. w f 75 -- W(widowed) GA. ,, DICKEY Johimina (m.s.- Mallury Volumnia) w f 45 D(daughter) W(wed) work farm GA. ,, James D. w m 18 GS(grandson) S(single) work farm TX. ,, FREMAN James T. w m 48 S(son) S(single) work farm GA. I don't have any info of 1890, nor 1900 census. Do you have any other info on Columbia --???-- (poss'bly BAKER) - FREEMAN, and James ( the TX. born son) FREEMAN?? Was she a BAKER from Baker Co., GA., and did she divorce James Torrence FREEMAN and go back to her old home in GA.?? Also, it is my belief that Mary E. 'Polly' COLLIER - FREEMAN and William L. CASWELL married before the 1850 Early Co., GA. census was taken, in some other county than Early Co., GA. Would you care to comment, and/or share some info on these people? Thanks, Kenn FREEMAN, Sr.
