Need help geting info on John Pate b 1833 TN m Mary Elizabeth Moore Ettley b 1836 MS daughter of John & Rosella Moore. Children, Henry Ettley b 1851, Christopher H Pate b 1854 Trinity Co. TX and Annie Pate b 1860 LA. In 1860 the children were in Rapides Parish LA living with and aunt and then in 1870 they were with grandparents in Trinity Co. Elizabeth in in Trinity 1870 but not with her children. Christopher told a story before his death that his dad, John, killed a man in Nacogdoches and fled the country side. Another story is that Christopher was good friends with John Wesley Hardin. Does anyone know about any of this? Donna cogdon@yahoo.com
