The following information is from the records of Herman Addison "Jack" Wardlaw (my father-in-law)
William Lewis Gilbreath 1859-1915, born GA died Three Rivers, Live Oak Co TX. In 1914 he bought 320 acres in Three Rivers TX but died only two years later. He is listed on the 1910 Census Ellis County TS (page 236 line 13).
He married Lucy Ann Sanford (19 Nov 1861-2 Sep 1929 Lewisville TX, buried Whitfield Cemetery 6 miles East of Mayfield, Ellis Co TX.)
children:
1. Sallie Ann Gilbreath (20 Feb 1880 Milford, Ellis Co TX-8 Feb 1968 Lewisville, Denton Co TX, married 2 Dec 1900 Addison Irving WARDLAW.
2. William Frank Gilbreath (18 Dec 1881-14 Apr 1906 Pluto, Ellis Co TX) married Susie Brown OVILLE.
3. Hugh Gilbreath died Lewisville TX
4. Jim, resident of Munday, Knox Co.
5. Orvile Gilbreath
6. Ira Emit Gilbreath died 1918 (flu) in Lewisville TX, married Rose Lee DAVIS
7. John Madison Gilbreath, 29 Sep 1898-29 Apr 1918 (flu) Lewisville TX
8. Lewis Raymon, 19 Nov 1902-21 Feb 1907 Lewisville, Denton Co TX)
9. Ethel Gilbreath married SAM CLINKSCALE, a barber
10, Robert Lee Gilbreath
11. Willie Mae Gilbreath

1996 handwritten notes of H. A. WARDLAW:

William Gilbreath had a farm at Three Rivers TX. He cleared the land of trees in order to farm. He said 'The only way to make money is with cattle. They make it while you sleep'.

The gold pocket watch belonged to my grandfather William Gilbreath.

Ethel Clinkscale has the GILBREATH bible.

(HAW) bought his white gold watch at age 21 while living with his grandmother GILBREATH. My brother (Oran Bundy 'Doc' WARDLAW stayed with his grandmother GILBREATH until her death in Pluto TX.
