The 23 May 1848 Marriage Records of Bexar Co. TX lists the marriage of Robert J. Clow to E. A. Adams.
Please note: Census enumerators were notorious for estimating ages, as is evident in the following records ---
The 27 Aug 1850 Census of Lavaca, Calhoun Co. TX p 250 lists Robt J. Clow 37 merchant TN, Elizabeth 27 AL, Catherine 1 TX.
The 9 Jul 1860 Census of Lavaca, Calhoun Co. TX p 250 lists R. J. Clow 47 merchant PA, E. A.34 AL, Kate, 10 TX Alice 8 TX, Mary 4 TX, and Ada 1 TX.
The 11 Jun 1870 Census of Lavaca, Calhoun Co. TX lists R. J. Clow 57 merchant PA, Elizabeth A.40 PA, Kate, 11 PA Alice 17 PA, Mary 15 PA, and Adda 8 PA.
The 2-3 Jun 1880 Census of Austin, Travis Co. TX p 205 lists Robert Clow 69 PA clerk in Compt. Office, Elizabeth 55 AL, Alice 25 TX, Mary 23 TX, Ada 20 TX.
Elizabeth A. Givens Adams was d/o William Lewis Adams, Esq. and Agatha Strother Lewis.
I don't know where the Clow family lived after 1880 in Austin. I assume Catherine "Kate" married, possibly in Calhoun or Travis Co. Does anyone know more about this family?
I am related to the Lewis family, so don't know anything else about the Clow family.
