Steve family in Texas in 1940s

I am looking for descendents of William Steve, born 7/4/1923 that might still be in Texas. Willam Steve went into the Army July 1942 and listed Austin Texas as his permanent address at that time. According to records William was born in Mexico, Missouri 7/4/1923. He was raised on an Indian Reservation, location unknown. It is believed he had a family in Texas but left that state for California. It is believed that William's father was Frank Steve and his mother was Bessie Shoop or Shoup an American Indian. William's known siblings include Bill and Betty both from Texas. Any information on this family would be appreciated. This is my Grandson's family and am trying to capture it for him. Thanks. Mike
