I want to point out to all that happen by. In Texas, and certainly in Tom Green county, you CANNOT get a birth or death Cert. without paying a charge. AND then you must have the name and date. Here in Tom Green they say it is a State mandate. So you will get the same results from Austin.
Austin will tell you all possibilities of the name in the state, whereas the county will be restricted to their own records. 'They' tell me the cost is the same... 9 dollars.
Marriage and divorce records are still free... so far.. and I will help on those if you write me. I can go to the courthouse about 3 times a month. westxan@wcc.net
