My Dad's Crew Found!! 448th BG,713th BS

This crew is found! They were flying a B-24, Serial No. 41-28602; 8th AF, 20th Bomb Wing 448th Bomb Group, 713th Bomb Squadron,radio. Missing Air Crew Report (MACR)#4364 documents the crash landing of this plane in Payerne, Switzerland. All of the crew survived and were interned in Switzerland. Crew names:

Pilot Lt Henry B. Schroeder
Co-Pilot 2Lt Lewis M. Sarkovich
Navigator 2Lt Bruce E. Crane
Bombardier 2Lt Jack R. Smith(my dad)
Nose Turret Gunner S/Sgt Alfred B. Maino
Top Turret Gunner T/Sgt Hugh O. Riley
Radio Operator T/Sgt William W. Huston
L. Waist Gunner S/Sgt William E. Seidel
R. Waist Gunner S/Sgt Ribert D. Miller
Tail Gunner S/Sgt Francis W. Scarbrough

In the original crew, the Radio Operator was LEIBMAN and HILLER was Waist Gunner. I would love to hear from any of these men or their families. Becky Smith <>
