I am searching for any information on Mary Vann Stephens, wife of George W. Stephens. George and Mary were married in the Stone Creek Baptist Church ca. 1848 in Twiggs County, GA. George and Mary moved to Titus County, Texas between 1850 - 1852 from Twiggs County, Georgia. Mary Vann Stephens was the daughter of Sanders Vann and Mary Ann Galloway Vann of Twiggs. It looks as if "C" is her middle initial on the 1860 census of Titus Co.
George and Mary are found on the 1860 Census of Titus County in the Sulpher/Sulphur area which may be what they call present day "Talco". The census is as follows:

George W. Stephens - age 39, born in GA.
Mary C. Vann Stephens - age 35, born in GA.
Frances J. Stephens - age 12, born in GA.
Edward L. Stephens - age 10, born in GA.
Harvey Hinton Stephens - age 8, born in TX.
July/Juli/Judy (?) A. Stephens - age 6, born in TX.
John A. Stephens - age 3, born in TX.

The 1870 Census does not list George so we assume he may have died or maybe was killed in the Civil War as his name is listed on the military roll from Titus County, along with his brother-in-law, William C. Vann. (ages vary somewhat on the census regarding Mary's age)

Mary Stephens - age 41, born in GA.
Edward L. Stephens, age 20,born in GA.
Harvey Hinton Stephens - age 18, born in TX.
John A. Stephens - age 13, born in TX.
George W. Stephens - age 9, born in TX.
Thomas M. Stephens - age 7, born in TX.
Leanah Stephens - age 5, born in TX.

Mary Vann Stephens' brother, William C. Vann, is listed in the Gouldburgh area of Titus County.

There is a Harvey Hinton Stevens/Stephens, born July 26, 1852 and died December 18, 1927 in Morris County, Texas. This could possibly be the above Harvey Hinton Stephens, child of George and Mary.

There is a George W. Stephens listed in the 19th Reg. Texas Infantry, organized by Allison Nelson at Houston, Texas, Harris County on October 15, 1861 and a George W. Stephens buried in Andersonville National Cemetery at Americus, GA. I do not know if this George W. Stephens buried at Andersonville is the above George W. Stephens.
Mary Vann Stephens may have remarried since she appears to be a widow by 1870.
If anyone has information on this family, I would love to hear from you. Mary Vann Stephens is my great great aunt.
