I need to know the married names of Louisiana ARMSTRONG and/or Mary W. ARMSTRONG. Also the names and date/place of the marriage of their parents. And the date/place of the second marriage of their mother, Elvira (maiden name possibly sounds like GABLE.) to Wm. CANADY.
Louisiana ARMSTRONG, age 14, b. TX, and Mary W. ARMSTRONG, age 12, b. TX, are listed in the family of William and Elvira CANADY in the Rusk County, TX, census of 1860, along with 3 younger CANADY children Joseph D.(b. June 1853), Alice, and Orry (Arrah/Permilla). In the 1870 census the family is in Titus County and these girls have "disappeared" as they are no longer living with the CANADYs (which is reasonable since both would probably have been married for several years.) but William CANADY b. Jan 1862, and Henry Dosson CANADY, b. Sept 1867, are listed.
In the 1900 census of Van Zandt County, TX, Elvira is listed as having given birth to 7 children. I suspect Louisiana and Mary W. are the two children I have not yet identified. If so, Elvira was married prior to her marriage to William CANADY.
I have been researching the CANADY/KENEDY/KENNEDY family for years, but have not been able to get earlier information than this 1860 census record. Would be quite grateful and willing to share what I do have.
