Hi Lynne.

Yes, you are correct. The Albert G. MAY that I am trying to sort out is the Albert G. MAY who was married to Martha SANSOM in Gonzales County, Texas. From his tombstone in the Wrightsboro, Gonzales County, Texas, I have his date of birth/death as follows:

Born 8 Nov 1840
Died 31 March 1881

From federal census records, it shows he was born in Texas with his father born in Illinois and his mother born in Arkansas. I do not know his mother's or father's name.

I have also been trying to find information on your Albert G. MAY who married Mary FARRIS and resided in Titus County, TX and his ancestors. I am looking for a connection between the three Albert G. MAYs (Albert G. MAY who married Mary FARRIS and his father Albert G. MAY who was married to Margaret CALDWELL, and my Albert G. MAY who was married to Martha SANSOM). As all three have a documented tie in to the state of Illinois, in the early 1800s, I am trying to explore the possibility that my Albert G. MAY might have been the son of a brother or cousin of one of the other Albert G. MAYs.

Any ideas on if the three Albert G. MAYs are somehow related?

I don't yet know all the brothers of Albert G. MAY (Sr) or their children's names. So I don't know if there is a tie in or not. At this point, all I know on my Albert G. MAY is that he appears in Gonzales, Texas as having married Martha SANSOM on 17 June 1865. I can track him through the census records for
1870 and 1880 and that's it. I have his Confederate Army record and a mention
of him in the local newspaper as being a teacher in Wrightsboro, TX.

Thanks again for the information.
Michael
