The following is the Obituary of my grandfather, Arthur Franklin "Frank" Pierce, who was born on 8/7/1894 in Young County, lived in Woodson for many years, and died on 12/10/1964: OBITUARY OF ARTHUR FRANKLIN PIERCE "The Odessa American", Odessa, Ector Co., TX Funeral services for Frank Pierce, 70, 1205 Bluebonnet, a resident of Odessa for 15 years, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Christian Church, with Rev. Wilburn J. Mindel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Paul A. Rix Funeral Home. Pierce, a retired pipeline construction worker, died this morning in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Big Spring. He had been in the hospital since November. He was born Aug. 7, 1894 in Graham, Tex. and served in both the Navy and the Marines [in World War I]. He came to Odessa from Woodson, Tex. Survivors include his wife [Cleo Adele HARLING]; three brothers, Jesse Lee PIERCE, Three Rivers, N.M., Ralph Stanton PIERCE, Fort Worth, Tex., and Bruce "Roger" PIERCE, Fort Sumner, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Dickenson, Melrose, N.M., and Mrs. Byrd Roberts, Okinawa, Japan; two sons, John Weston PIERCE, Crane, and Jesse Harling "Hap" PIERCE, Odessa; two daughters, Mrs. C. H. HARVEY [Billye Jean PIERCE], Ingleside, Tex., and Mrs. Will Rush [Charlene PIERCE], Dallas, Tex., 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Notify Administrator about this message?
