On LDS site they had a pilot program - you can print out Texas Death certificates from 1890-1976 (most of them anyway - you always have holes)
per that database:

John Axe b 17 Aug 1866 LA d 18 May 1933 Abilene, Taylor Co - bur City Cemetery {those dates are Aug 17, 1867 - May 18, 1933} lot was paid for by T.N. Hickman - parents unknown - inform: Carl Axe wife was Bessie

Mary E. McDearman b 27 Feb 1893 TX d 4 Oct 1930 Abilene, {Jones Co} - actually died 2 miles north of Hamby in Jones Co but was pronounced at the Abilene Hospital - spouse W. D. McDearman [informant] father John Axe b LA mother Lena Warnick b Germ - bur Round Mound Cemetery, Jones Co [no burial list online}

Carl William Axe b Dec 29, 1894 TX d Mar 1, 1963 Abilene, Taylor Co father John Axe mother Lena Wernick - informant Mrs Lowell Boyd bur Elmwood Memorial Park

Lena M.W. Axe [wd] b 12 Mar 1868 Germ d 19 Feb 1952 Abilene, Taylor Co - informant: Theo Axe - parents unknown - burial Hamby Cemetery {not on burial list}

I can check for obits in the Abilene papers next week if you want -
Hope it helps,
Betty
