Joiner, 68, former Tye resident, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Caps Methodist Church of which she has been a memebr for more than 20 years. Burial will be in the Tye Cemetery. Nephews will be the pallbearers. Born Octavia Pennia Bell Aug 18, 1886 in Grant Co., AR., she came to Erath Co in 1895 with her parents and moved to Taylor Co in 1905. She married G.A. Joiner Oct 18, 1907 at Tye. Survivors: husband; two children by adoption: Weir Joiner of Tye and Mrs. Woodrow Walden , 441 South Mockingbird Land; three grandchildren: Carol Lynn and Mary Elaine Joiner and Judy Ann Walden, one sister Mrs. O.W. Bell 142 Poplar St Abilene Reporter News Sat May 1, 1959 pg 15A col 4 Ex-Tye Resident Mrs. Petit Dies at Throckmorton Mrs. Lilla Ann Petit, 81, a resident of Throckmorton since 1910 died Thursday afternoon at Throckmorton Hospital. Born in Grant Co., AR she moved to Bosque Co in 1896. She married Oscar W. Petit in 1903 there. They moved to Tye near Abilene in 1906 then to Throckmorton. Burial will be in Throckmorton Cemetery. Survivors: husband three sons: Bill of Odessa; Wayne of Falfurrias; C.L. of Fort Worth four daughters:Mrs William Kirkpatrick of Kermit, Mrs. Travis Smith of Wichita Falls, Mrs. H.R.
