Am researching the CARDELL/PEACOCK families of Texas. Does anyone know or research the family
listed on the 1880 census, Bandera Co. Wm. Cardell, age 27, Jane Cardell age 23 John age
8 James age 6 Caleb age 3. A cousin, age 23, Thomas was living in the household. This
cousin is the right age to be my Henry Thomas CARDELL.
My ancestor Henry Thomas Cardell, b. 1857 place of birth unknown, married Mary Dorena Hamby in the Austin, Travis, TX area, then went to San Saba, Texas. The Hamby's
lived in the Austin area, and the Cardell's moved on to San Saba and Waco Texas, and
Peacock, Stonewall County. Henry died at Richland Springs, Tx. about 1894-1895, and is buried there somewhere, but I have not found him listed in any cemetery listing online. He may have an unmarked grave, or be buried on a farm where they lived. After his death, his wife and children moved to the Waco area, where she lost another infant son, (name unknown, but might be Daniel) and he is buried there somewhere. Their son, William Thomas Cardell later married to Ella Peacock, who was born in the San Saba area.
Ella Peacock (later Cardell) was born there in San
Saba Co. in 1892 (she was a twin) Her parents were John William (Bill) and Maggie Roden (Wilson) PEACOCK. They moved from the San Saba area, but not sure when.
Ella grew up in the Stonewall County area....where he father and brothers owned the store (Brack/Morgan and Bill)
They are also descendants through marriages to the Bilberry Family (Esau and Susan Bilberry-Bilberry and John Couch/Crouch Bilberry line) Maggie Roden Wilson Peacock's mother, Elizabeth Jane Walker-Wilson married John C. Bilberry and had two children Leondas and Martelia Bilberry.
Any iformation appreciated.
