Death Announcement - Thurman J. "Brunie" Underwood

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the recent death of Thurman J. "Brunie" Underwood.

Brunie died Thursday, August 8, 2002. While driving out to check his vegetable garden, he was involved in a fatal automobile accident. He was 82 years and 11 months old.

Brunie was born on September 14, 1919 in Somervell Co., Texas to Lee Pruitt & Charlottie Nancy Tabitha (Pickard) Underwood. He served in WWII as an Aircraft Power Plant (AP) Mechanic, and was honorably dischard in 1945, having attained the rank of SSgt. He was a member of the Glenview Church of Christ and attend services regularly.

Brunie was the GGGgrandson of Alexander John & Lavina "Viney" (Prewitt) Underwood (Alexander John, William Pruitt, Lee Pruitt, Brunie). He never married, and is survived by several cousins, nephews and nieces, as well as many very good friends.

An open visitation is open planned for Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Wiley Funeral Home, Hwy 67, Glen Rose, TX. Phone: 254-897-2288. Family will be in attendance between 6:00PM and 8:00PM. The funeral will take place graveside at Nancy Smith Cemetery, Somervell Co., Texas on Monday, August 12, 2002 at 10:00AM, and will be followed by a luncheon at the Glen Rose Church of Christ, Hwy 67, Glen Rose, Texas.

Brunie will be sadly missed by many.
