Since the given name of Pack isn't too common, you might check the family of Pack Reynolds on the 1870 census Meriwether Co, GA.

On the 1860 he is listed as "Pat".

Reynolds, Pat, 38, b GA - land 2700/personal 1000
" Elizabeth, 37, b GA
" Lucinda, 18, b GA
" James, 15, b GA
" John (?), 13, b GA
" Lansy E., 8, b GA
" Mary J., 6, b GA
" (Lany ?), 53, b GA (probably mother of Pat/Pack)

But, on that same census is an Alax, 35 b GA, with wife and his family including a John H., 12, b GA. So, maybe Pack is the father or uncle to your J.H.??????

Happy Hunting (^_^)
