K.A. Taylor,
Since my last message, I've recently found that Dennis Spear/Speer married Lucinda Moncrief, a sister to my ancestor Permilia Moncrief who married John Choate. I had thought that there could be some relation because the orphaned Choate children were living with the Spears. I found both of the marriages in Fayette County Tennessee marriage book.
So there you have it. The Moncrief/Moncrieff's are the connection.
