I am a descendent of William Miner Henson, b. 1807(most likely)-1812(less likely) in TN, d. Smith County, TX 1866. W.M. Henson married Mary Green b. 1821 in TN about 1835, d. Smith County, TX June 1860. Henson family moved to Bount Co., AL about 1838. Live near James Green Sr. & Mary Green of SC and family of Greens.
Hensons moved to Smith County, Texas near Canton Beat & Troup PO. After October 23, 1850, and 1st Henson child born November 1850, Smith County, TX. Had a total of 16 children the oldest two born in TN, then AL with the last five born in TX.
Timothy, Samuel, James, Sarah, Thomas, Nancy, John, Wineford (or Wennafer or Wonnafer), Mary, Hannah, Martha, William jr., Eliza, Sephone, Wesley Turner, Allice or Alice Henson.
Wesley Turner Henson age four in 1860 census is my great-grandfather. Seems Mary Green was grandmother and lived with Henson family in Smith County, TX, 1860 after daughter Mary died. Wesley Turner and siblings may have been farmed out to siblings or relatives after William Miner Henson died 1866. He lived in Freestone County TX with first wife Margaret Alifair Claridge in 1870s. He married Sidney Pruella/Puella Driver 1889. Sidney “Ella” Driver, b. 1870 Smith County, TX, and was daughter of Mary Elizabeth ___?__-Driver b. 1840 AL, M.E. Driver married William A. Shahan, 1878, later lived with Wesley Turner and Ella Henson. She is buried next to them in Greer County Russell Hallow, Oklahoma.
James Green Sr. may have been a Methodist Minister and also his eldest child Timothy Wilson Green.
Winneford/Winnefred/Winnefer Henson married Timothy Wilson Green’s son James Green. Sarah Jane Henson married Lemuel Turner Thompson and later Mr. Higginbotham. Nancy Henson married I. H. Stephenson.
Any information on the rest of the Henson Green, Driver families. May be from Smith County or nearby county.
