I married into the Shelby Co. Buckleys and can give you confirmation of Sina Buckley's origin.
She is the daughter of John Buckley and Elizabeth Heddon who were married in Shelby Co. Kentucky on 12-13-14 (Dec 13, 1814) and came to Texas in 1822. (Shelby Co KY Marriages).
She is listed on the 1835 Census and the 1840 Republic of Texas Census for Tenehaw/Tenaha District which I found at my local library.
Her father John Buckley Jr, had served in Kentucky during the War of 1812 and was discharged there when he met and married Elizabeth Heddon, d/o Jacob Heddon, formerly of Spartenburg Co. SC. (Shelby Co KY Marriages).
I later learned this John Buckley was not the son of William Buckley who died in Loudoun Co. VA in 1789 (WB D/36) but he was the grandson of William's son Captain John Buckley (1754-1819) who fought in the Revolutionary War in Pittsylvania County VA.
John Buckley Junior served in the War of 1812 and then came to Texas in 1822 where he later enlisted for 30 days in Oct/Nov 1835 & served in the war for TX independence. Other Buckley cousins migrated from Virginia and settled in Mississippi who are also related to John Buckley Jr of Shelby Co. TX Buckleys.
John Buckley Junior/Eliz H Buckley were awarded a league and labor of Shelby County land which of that amount 1100 acres was actually ever in possession of John Buckley. His first son Tyree had legal suits against the State of Texas for the balance of his Dad's land entitlement. Tyre Buckley is 55 years of age, b 1815, in MS on the 1870 Shelby Co Census, Hamilton PO. You can verify Buckley Deeds by checking Texas General Land Office files on line.
We are quite of number of Buckley researchers who have been looking for other "SCRITCHFIELDS" to exchange information with. We are working to preserve the Buckley Cemetery.
Hope this helps!
