I know a little bit about the Galttana family of Fort Griffin. Synthia Ann Alverson Galttano was the sister of my great grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth Alverson Ledbetter. I know that after the deaths of Curtis Galttano and his wife Synthia, two of their children were taken in by my grandfather, Harvey Henderson Ledbetter (Margaret Elizabeth's son) and his first wife. In the 1880 Census they are listed as Margaret Ledbetter and Louis Ledbetter and noted "adopted Daughter" and "adopted son." This couple were married in Feb. 1878 so they were newlyweds when they took in these children. I do not believe they lived long with my Grandfather's family. Later I believe they lived with their Alverson Grandfather.
