Early Shackelford Co. Records in Palo Pinto Co.?

My husband's Maxwell ancestors lived in Shackelford Co. in the late 1850s and early 1860s when it was very sparsely settled and was attached to Palo Pinto Co. for administrative purposes. Shackelford Co. was not a separate legal jurisdiction until 1874.

Would any early Shackelford Co. records be found in Palo Pinto Co.?

Thanks for any assistance!

Nancy Maxwell
