I found the following on an old calendar. It is from the Stephenville Examiner dated April 12, 1878:
> " R M Hollis, who murdered a young man at Duffau two weeks ago was arrested today at Waco...."
> I also read in another entry that Bob Hollis was arrested in Stephenville ca. this time. Bob was described as a " gunman'. My wife is related to the Hollises of Erath County but we are unable to account for R M or Bob ( maybe the same person ?), unless it might be Robert Nelson Hollis, son of John Durham & Mary Ann Roberson Hollis. The 1880 Erath County Census shows Robert N. to be in jail. What happened to this family after the 1880 Census ? Seems that some may have moved to Shackelford County, Texas but not sure. Can anyone help me with this ?
