The 1910 census of Shackelford County listed Macagus H. Berry, aged 50, with wife Roxanna C., aged 48, as a farmer in Precinct One. His actual name was Micajah Holden Berry. The children in the household were daughters Malley L. and Edna M. and son Tom A. All had been born in Mississippi, except the youngest child Tom who was born in Texas. Do any descendants of this Berry family still live in the area?
At the time of the 1900 census, Mack H. Berry, aged 40, and his wife Roxanna C., aged 39, were living in Delta County, Texas. He was a farmer in Precinct Six. Their children included three daughters Ella E., Mallie L., and Edna M., and one son Thos. A.
Micajah H. Berry was born in Choctaw County, Mississippi, in 1860. His wife Roxanna C. Lancaster Berry was born in Winston County, Mississippi, in 1862. They moved from Mississippi to Texas in the mid 1890s.
