I know this is maybe a long shot, but here it goes………
My aunt, Nola Florine (Florene) Bishop (Rena) disappeared several years ago, some time in the early 1950’s. My family has been trying to locate her for years, but to no avail. The last time that anyone in my family heard from Rena was that she was moving to Omaha and that she had landed a job and was going to be working for Mutual of Omaha. Now, mind you, this was a long time ago, and the possibility of finding any information is doubtful, still, I have to try.
Nola Florine Bishop was the eldest child of Charles Herbet Bishop and Avis Aileen Dozier Bishop from Texas. Nola had moved with the family to Fresno, California. According to family stories, Nola had a falling out with her family and had decided she was going to leave California and move to Omaha. My grandmother did later receive a letter from her telling her of her situation in Omaha, but that is the last time she heard anything from her daughter. My grandmother as well as my mother and her brothers and sisters died without ever knowing what happened to Nola.
Out of 11 children that my grandparents had, only one child is still living and that is my uncle who lives in Montana. Maybe even build a timeline of sorts to see where she might have gone or to find out what happened to her.
I have tried everything I could possibly do, outside of hiring a private detective, to locate her. Searching the net, newspapers, contacting family members that might have heard from her down through the years, anything that may give a clue as to her whereabouts.
The only information that I have for my aunt is the following: she was born on 25 October 1923, in Ira, Scurry County, Texas. If anyone has any information about my aunt please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
