Hi Karylon,
We corresponded several years ago. Nice to hear from you again. We have not made any more progress with the Bishop line since then. The earliest we find Emily Bishop is on the 1837 Tax List for Washington Co., AR. He is on the 1840 census for Crawford Co., 1850 for Madison Co., and 1860 for Carroll Co., Arkansas. There are several articles about him in local histories in those same counties so I am not so sure if he moved around a lot or if the counties changed around him.
He and his family migrated to San Saba between 1860 and 1870 but his movements once he left Arkansas are less documented. To date, we have not found the maiden name of Jane.
If I do find anything further, I will post it here.
