Minerus White -- Polk / San Jacinto County Texas

Looking for information on a Minerus White born abt. 1805-12 in South Carolina. Lived in Polk County, TX in 1870 laterly in San Jacinto county. Married Sarah (?) born abt. 1830 in Alabama. I think both may have been slaves of Thomas H. Snow, Sr. from Lowndes County, Alabama before coming to Texas possibly with Thomas' daughter Maragaret or son Thos., Jr.

Thos. Jr. fathered 10 childeren with Minerus' daughter Margarette. But of course the two never married due to the racial barriers of the time. Family had the last name of White because it was the closes name to Snow. And Thos. Sr. didn't want his slaves to have the name of Snow.

Anyone with information it would greatly be appreciated. I have plenty info on the Snow family just working on the White side now.

Thanks in advance.

Kim
