Just wondering if anybody has ever heard of Mary Evelyn Moore Davis? According to an internet posting of collections at Stephen F. Austin State University library in Texas, there is a scrapbook and other material about her, including biographical information. The information posted says that she was born 4/12/1852 in Talladega, AL. She moved to various cities in Texas and then married Thomas Edward Davis of Houston, TX in 1874. At some point she lived in New Orleans, LA and wrote a series called "Keren-happuch and I". I'm am wondering if she is related to Person Davis who was also in Talladeega Co. AL. After the death of his wife Mary (possibly Beard) he remarried Diana Moon (or Moore, the handwriting on his will is a little hard to decipher). Mary Evelyn Moore marries a Davis and writes about a character called Keren-happuch. I am wondering if this was because of Person Davis's daughter Keren-happuch Davis Sorrell who may seems to have been named after her presumed grandmother Kerenhappuch Beard. Is anybody familiar with Mary Evelyn Moore Davis, or seen the collected material?
